God's people need revived today. We need strengthened in the inner man (Ephesians 3:13-21) and filled with God's Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18ff). Here are some things you can do to make yourself available to God for revival:
I. Pray for the Preacher: 1 Thessalonians 5:25 “Brethren, pray for us.”
"If the church wants a better pastor, it only needs to pray for the one it has." Unknown
1. That He Would Have Freedom to Preach the Word with Holy Spirit Power: 1 Corinthians 2:4-5 “And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.”
2. That He Would Have Freedom to Preach the Word with Boldness: Ephesians 6:18-19 “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,”
3. That He Would Have Freedom to Preach the Word Regardless of Faithless Men: 2 Thessalonians 3:1-2 “Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.”
4. That He Would Have Freedom to Preach the Word with Personal Integrity: Hebrews 13:18 “Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly."
II. Pray for God’s People: 2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
III. Pray for Lost People: Luke 19:10 “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
Romans 10:1 “Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.”
IV. Pray for Yourself Personally: Psalm 139:23-24 “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
